A small, yet already famous among coffee gourmands, The Blue Cup coffee shop opened its doors a year ago in Kiev, Pushkinska str., 5. This autumn, 2015, the place reopened, as its space became twice as large, which in its turn required changes in design. The previous concept basic materials remained unaltered, as they add special spirit and atmosphere to the coffee shop. These include white tiles, white brick, grey ceramic floor, wooden ceiling and amber plywood.

Рік тому свої двері відкрила маленька, але уже добре відома кавовим гурманам, кав’ярня The Blue Cup coffee shop на Пушкінській, 5 в м. Києві. А цієї осені 2015 року вона їх відкрила вдруге, тому що простір став вдвічі більшим, а отже і змінився дизайн. Від старого концепту залишили основні матеріали, які надаюсь особливий дух та атмосферу кав’ярні, а саме: білу плитку та білу цеглу, керамічну сіру підлогу, відреставровану дерев’яну стелю та фанеру бурштинового кольору.
The experience of two Ukrainian girls, designer Yova Yager and artist Nastya Ptichek for YOVA YAGER hospitality design, was creatively combined in this project. Owing to their creative synergies, this project speaks the language of The Red Book of Ukraine through pictures of plants and animals, depicted on its pages. The fresh interior suggests that the characters live on wallpapers, chairs and pillows, attracting the customers’ attention not only to their original appearance, but also to reasons that lead to the extinction of these particular fauna and flora species.

Особливість даного проекту полягає у творчому об’єднанні двох українських дівчат: дизайнера Yova Yager та художниці Nastya Ptichek для YOVA YAGER hospitality design. Завдяки їх креативній синергії, даний проект говорить мовою Червоної книги України через зображення тварин та рослин, які занесені до її сторінок. Тепер персонажі живуть на шпалерах, кріслах та подушках серед нового інтер'єру, привертаючи увагу відвідувачів не лише власним оригінальним виглядом , а й тими причинами, які призводять до знищення даних популяцій флори і фауни у природі.
That is why, a bison is depicted with a pipe, a part of which is made of its horn; a lynx is wearing a hat with a fur pompom; a hare is associated with a rabbit’s foot, the symbol of good luck, but in order to avoid bloodshed, there is a hand of Fatima on the hare’s neck – also the symbol of fortune; a polecat symbolizes a fur collar, which is why he is depicted in a wool circle scarf. As for the black grouse, among the reasons for its extinction is a comprehensive list of human’s needs – consuming it as food or using in décor. That is why we see him wearing a beret with his feather. In addition, pictures show us plants that are dying out. They are more difficult to recognize as they are not as familiar to our eye as the animals are. As we know, everything in nature is intertwined, so the disappearance of one species of plants may cause the disappearance of a certain species of animals.

Саме тому зубр зображений з люлькою, частина якої виготовлена з його рога; на рисі – шапка з помпоном із натурального хутра; заєць асоціюється з кролячою лапкою, яка є символом удачі, але щоб, знову ж таки, уникнути кровопролиття, на шиї зайця висить рука Фатіми – також знак фортуни; тхір символізує хутряний комір, тому він зображений у вовняному снуді (шарфі); щодо тетерева, то серед причин його знищення цілий ряд людських «потреб» - вживання в їжу або для декору, саме тому він у береті зі своєю пір’їною. Також на малюнку можна зустріти рослини, що зникають, розпізнати які значно складніше, ніж знайомі образи тварин. Але, як відомо, у природі усе взаємозалежно, тому зникнення одного виду рослин може стати причиною зникнення певного виду тварин і т.д.
hus, Yova Yager and Nastya Ptichek launched a project “Zhyly-Byly” in the project “The Blue Cup coffee shop”, which portrays wild nature of Ukraine as it is, without violence and cruelty, but from a fairytales perspective.
The poject is aimed at solving three important problems: raising the question of illegal extermination of plants and animals on the territory of Ukraine; helping environmental institutions and animals shelters by transferring a certain percentage of sale of all items with pictures of the project; the development of local art initiatives, welcoming those who are interested in art collaboration within the project.

Таким чином Yova Yager та Nastya Ptichek створили проект у проекті під назвою «Жили-Були», який відтворює реальний стан речей в дикій природі України без насилля та жорстокості, а через казкову площину ілюстрацій.Проект має на меті вирішення трьох важливих питань: актуалізація питання незаконного винищення тварин та рослин на території України; допомога природоохоронним організаціям та притулкам для тварин у вигляді перерахування певних відсотків з продажу всіх товарів із зображеннями проекту; розвиток локальної мистецької ініціативи, залучаючи усіх охочих до художньої співпраці в межах проекту.
