BOOK THE NOBEL PRIZE
The brief, issued by ISTD, stated that the Nobel Prize was to be celebrated.

This book celebrates the Nobel laureates in literature by letting their stories tell our history.
This allows for a unique assembly of Nobel Prize laureates.

The solution is typographic in the sence that the content of the extracts are interpreted
marely with the use of typography and color.

"A Chronicle" granted me a membership in ISTD (International Society of Typographic Designers). The membership is
"(...) Available to all practising typographers, graphic designers and educators who show, by submission of their typographic design work to the ISTD board, or through evidence of competence in their field of activity, that their work has reached the high standard to qualify for membership of the Society." For those of you that are curious; these are the judges' verdicts of "A Chronicle":

Typographic Interpretation and Skills: Good interpretation and typographic standards. Good layout and design. Reasonable typographic detailing.

Research and Development: Very good body of research. Good evidence of interrogation of the brief; good range of alternative initial concepts; testing and strong concept development.

Specifications (Typographic and Production): Very good. Clear and well detailed typographic and production details. Very good level of information.

Strategy: Very well considered strategy, Creative and appropriate response to the project brief. Very good structure and writing.

Presentation: Very good presentation. Comprehensive, coordinated and very well-produced.

Comment:
Your research was well conveyed, we especially enjoyed the listing of advantages and disadvantages of your ideas. It would have been interesting to read some of your detailed sketches, including the post-it notes. A very interesting idea and concept that was expressed through your use of typography. There is a sensitivity and control over your information. The overall typography was well handled and displays a keen eye for detail with a good choice of typeface although some of the initial information could benefit from being slightly larger. The colour, pacing, and small detail elements flow well throughout the piece. There are quite inventive moments which convey your concept well.

A couple of the spreads could benefit from additional attention (ie: Spanish Civil War, does it need to be in the center, the Hermann Hesse spread was a little heavy and did not have the sensitivity as the other pages, the position of the drop cap on the Anatole France page could use better placement).

Overall, well done, a nice piece that is engaging to the viewer.
