Competitive Scholarship Portfolio 2016
This year's work took on the topic of an exploration of my own body through materials. I utilized techniques ranging from ceramic work to fiber art to start a dialogue about worship of my own body and the way it takes up space. The work I created mimicked, reflected and payed homage to the vessel through which I move through the world while maintaining a limited color palette and a linear theme. It is my hope to amplify discussions about gender, marginalization, and sexuality with the work that I create in my own image.
