Objective:
During August 25th–28th we partnered with professors and design students at the Universidad del Istmo (UNIS) to complete a social design project for the municipality of Fraijanes, which is near Guatemala City. Twenty-five designers collaborated in the creation of a potable water awareness campaign that included the design of a brand identity and educational materials aimed at elementary school age children—and vicariously to their parents.
Goals:
• Create a greater awareness and interest in the conservation and management of the municipality’s potable water resources.
• Communicate a clear and effective message through various media channels.
• Make vital connections between citizens and local government officials.
• Complete project in four days.

Solution:
Our concept is called Agua temala, which is a combination of the words (Agua and guatemala). Agua temala is a cool superhero with the body of a watertank who teaches children about water resources, conservation, and the importance of keeping it clean. Through his efforts, children can become hero's too! In one lesson, Agua temala helps a boy who has come across an unhappy fish—he helps the boy clean the water of polluntion, thus making everyone happy.

 - character animation
 - poster
 - t-shirts
 - teacher's guidebook with lesson plans and activities
