Overview
For a game design class in school, we were asked to create a game that raises awareness on the effects of Pill Parties/Pharming for the Government of Australia's Department of Health. This game was to be targeted at teens/ high school students. Pill Peril is a game created by myself and four other classmates.
The Approach
Because we were targeting an Australian demographic, we looked at games of similar aims launched in the country, particularly Dumb Ways To Die. Because this game was targeted at a slightly older demographic and was well received by the people, we decided to go with the same "feel" for overall design.
The Narrative
A space ship lands in OD (Over Dose) World, and the druggies captured Luno’s friends. The Druggies will only let Luno go would if he graduates High school but they’ve put dangers to stop him. Luno must graduate High school to save his friends and return home or else he will be enslaved forever.
