The Force Awakens opened December 16, 2015, and broke all sorts of record.
Prior to the film release, and everything that came after, I was able to live a very peculiar hype and unique
excitement, surely similar to the one experienced by many in 1999 that I couldn't enjoy, being too young.
I firmly believe that the strongest merit of director J.J. Abrams, and integral part of this film experience,
was to create that unique atmosphere of excitement: a desire of new accompained with sweet nostalgia,
all infused with a Spielberg sense of Cinema Magic, that lasted one full year, till when we all finally
walked to the theatre, knowing absolutely nothing, thanks to his trademark mystery box.
Inspired by classic Star Wars illustrator Drew Struzan, as well by various, early leaked merchandise
artworks and photos, I created this series of drawings while living that special atmosphere,
during the hype-filled months before Star Wars: The Force Awakens finally hit the screens.
