Versus is a collection of 52 amazing illustrations by 13 brilliant artists, all presented within a box of playing cards, sent to creative organisations to get them employed. I started the project with Volume 1 back in 2010 as a way to give something back to the creative community. Over about 4 months the project was introduced to the world and completed by November when a final exhibition was displayed in the Start the Bus gallery. The project got such a great reception I decided to bring the project back in 2011 for Volume 2.
In the second year I wanted to get more illustrators involved so turned the submission process into a competition and presented a poster at the exhibition with all enteries as well as the 13 chosen artists work. The brief for Volume 2 made much more use of the colour scheme making all the cards work better as a group and quite impressive at the final exhibition at The Palour in Bristol.
