A project that was a part of a Typography Studio where we emphasised mainly on vernacular Indian language scripts. The language I chose was Bengali.
Even though I am fluent with reading and writing the language; I had lost touch and hence I was highly nostalgic about it.
As a kid my parents and grandmother would read out stories and poems from bengali classic children's books by Rabindranath Tagore and Sukumar Ray.
This project is an effort for me to go back to my roots. And I have hence themed my work around vintage bengali writing.

Inspiration : "Ha-Ja-Ba-Ra-La" by Sukumar Ray
I aimed to explore the typographic letter forms of the bengali script, using the word- "Ha-Ja-Ba-Ra-La" coined and derived from Sukumar Ray’s book in Bengali for children which means - absolutely jumbled.
The final poster is an application of the swiss modular grid- with the word jumbled up (as goes the meaning - absolutely jumbled)using colours that are quirky and fun describing the weird and quirky stories and poems in the book!
