Heti Világgazdaság (meaning World Economy Weekly in English) or HVG is a Hungarian weekly economic and political magazine with its editorial office in Budapest.
Founded in 1979, Heti Világgazdaság is closely modeled on the Economist in style and content. The magazine, published weekly, was very important in the years spanning the transition from communism in airing new ideas and challenging boundaries. During the same period it was also a leading investigative publication.
HVG is often referred to as the leading news magazine in the country. Some articles are also available online and in English.
