This is an ongoing challenge that I hope to continue throughout the remainder of my artistic career. I enjoy the imagery of horror films; I realize that this may create some preconceptions when it comes to my personality, regardless, I want to render the imagery the way my brian processes it.
I trust I won't offend the original artists, and if I have, please, let me know.
Taking on any characters that have any reputation is difficult, namely because you are having to compete with everyone else vision of the character. This is what i see when I close my eyes and think of Freddy.

Another film of moments The Omen is a masterpiece. The fantastic '...it's all for you..." scene stands out as the most disturbing.
I realize it is a bit cartoonish, but i frankly don't care, I am very pleased with the end results.
Another John Carpenter gem, an under appreciated, kick ass film. Starring Keith David and Rowdy Roddy Piper...that's right the most nasty of nasty 80's wrestlers.
The sunglasses were the key...the RayBan style shades were the way you were able to see the true faces of the alien force that was hellbent on taking over the planet. Sneaky aliens poisoning man through complacency and TV...magic!
Iconic doesn't really seem to cover the enormity of the Jason Voorhees hockey mask. This image will forever be etched into out brains as the first REAL stalker super killer.
Insane in idea...foolish at times, but always the best in the genre.

My favorite modern horror series, the Saw films are not only creatively gory but clever in story. The first 3 parts are my personal favorite, I always enjoyed the Pig's head imagery...it was greasy, oily, disturbing through texture.
The signature, cutting out of the jigsaw puzzle piece was the image that always stood out for me...i wanted to capture that, from the inside looking back at the killer.
