Remember sitting tavern that skilled craftsmen built with the passion and experience of a centuries-old tradition? The seat HOST addresses the issue of re-interpret, in a contemporary way, a traditional model sitting, doing the minimal shapes, structural refinement and attention to construction details, the key to the interpretation of a product that can adapt to the new requirements of 'use and easily approachable to various life styles. Starting from the desire to enhance the possibilities derived artisanal excellence, it is given ample space to the technical solutions that become part of the formal design, translating the key elements of the composition into repeatable types and easily replicated with a view to maximizing and optimizing processes productive. Wedged elements that bring out the processing and combination process, while the overlap of flat components, thin and apparently suspended, is entrusted with the task of conferring rigidity to the base frame, all materializing through the poetry of simple and decisive gestures. The overall solution highlights the possibility of obtaining a powerful artifact from the point of view of strength, durability and structural efficiency, even while achieving a light, both in the literal sense of the term, both with regard to visual perception: the system to x that determines the hiring of a deformable element, is joined to a rectangular section elements, which distribute the stresses on each component in a mutual exchange of tensions. The customization possibilities are, in addition to the use of localized color (backrest and seat) also in the possibility of interpreting the shape and the comfort, of flat elements, is brought back to them also a function of a purely aesthetic nature: the formal variability is allowed from the assembly system in suspension, which determines the independence of the frame, in the construction process, the ergonomic sections. The choice of finish depends on the medium used, preferring pastel colors and the essence combination treated with natural waxes, in order to leave intact the warmth and naturalness of the product. The size focus attention on as small as possible, in agreement with the demands of comfort, essential in order to have the seat in the most common and varied occasions. The range of essences includes a variety of local wood, chosen for their lightness, flexibility, strength and workability, such as Ash widely present in Campania. Project realized for the "Siedimi 2015" competition for Jsign and Made In Cloister . Read Less
