The illustration for the first look, meant to be the opening scene of her emerging from the flower.
Hand made flowers and painted beetles. I burned the edges to look decayed, and painted the beetles to look rusted and mossy.
I also burned most of the dress. Since the pink was real silk, and the green and yellow were two different types of synthetic fabric, they all burned differently which I used to my advantage. I also went in to most of the crevases with dye to give it more contrast.
The back was designed to look like the beetle nest.

My thesis presentation. The face was a resin mold of my own face, filled with leaves and white resin swirl to look like it was frozen in the ice. I wrapped the rope around her face/mouth since she wasnt really allowed to speak through most of the story.
