John Running photographed the Hopi Social Dance Group - “Homolovi” on the 5th & 6th of July, 2008. He had a unique opportunity when the group “Homolovi” was scheduled to perform at Heritage Square during the Fourth of July weekend. He invited them to use the Flagstaff Photography Center to change into their traditional dance clothes and then set up a studio space and made these photos prior to and after their performances. Their dances in the square worked - because they brought needed rain to downtown Flagstaff.
