Delilah: Film Tribute
Delilah is a film tribute that follows femme fatale roles showcasing film noir classics from the 1940s and 50s. A Delilah is a seductive, deceitful temptress, and is characterized through lead actress roles in each film. Film noir is a highly stylized, overtly theatrical film type with imagery often drawn from an earlier era of German “expressionist” cinema. Divided into 13 case files, each is paired with a specific Delilah. Hand bound in a collection of folders, the Delilahs are investigated to expand knowledge and insight into the characters, stories, directors, and actors.
The program is numbered and typed in a screenplay style with film details and signatures. Loose prints and signed copies of old photographs are scattered throughout the folders creating an element of interaction, investigation, and authenticity. A smaller program is included with an introduction, events schedule, map, and related information for convenience during the festival.
