GRPH 68: Design Studio Practicum
// BIO //
This project was brought to me by the CCSF Culinary & Hopsitality departments. The client was looking for a mail-out invitation for the upcoming, annual senior showcase, titled "Wok on the Wild Side." The client was looking for a design that could eventually be applied to all other aspects of the event, as a sort of event identity. While they normally had a theme in mind each year, this year was without a theme. The client wanted a design that was inviting, bright/warm, exciting, and represented the dynamic energy of the event itself.

Deliverables: RSVP card. 2-color print, 16.5” x 4.5” flat, 6.125” x 4.5” folded with perforation.
(As well as a postcard/e-mail "Save the Dates").
// AS A DESIGNER //
I decided on a concept that invoked the bold nature of the event. This wasn’t a boring dinner affair, but rather a celebration of the work these students had put into developing their craft. I wanted the design to feel brash, exciting, colorful, and furious — much like the kitchen itself. The attendees would be presented with an intimate look at the kitchen during the event, and I thought the invitation should highlight the controlled chaos that is usually goes unseen by the general public. This would be an event to remember.
