This was for the reliquary project assigned by MassART's jewelry program; the assignment was to make a reliquary for an object. Instead of venerating an item that was near and dear to me, I chose to use a squishy dog toy that my girlfriend got at Target for a dollar. I wanted to subvert the idea of religious artifacts by taking the care to construct a vessel for something extremely silly. The design is based off a diving suit from the 1800s, I figured it would be a thematic match for the lobster.

This piece won the All School Show award, and was featured in Massart's 2011 view-book.

Copper, brass, steel, bronze, glass, velvet, cardboard, epoxy, and a squishy dog toy.
