I got the chance to work on a very exciting project with Málbjörg, the National Stuttering Association in Iceland, where we photographed people's stutters.

Stuttering is a speech disorder that affects more than 70 million people worldwide, according to The Stuttering Foundation. Many people develop specific repetitive facial and body movements with their stutters which, just like the way the stutter manifests in the speech, can be very personal and unique to that person.

In this project, we wanted to document those movements and tics and, more importantly, to celebrate them as something unique and personal. It is an aspect of the person you may often witness when you meet them face to face, but which is never shown on a still photograph. And yet, they are often an important aspect of that person's identity.

Many thanks to Málbjörg, and especially to Sigríður & Sveinn for directing the whole thing!
