one hundred is a book I created using pen and ink that depicts what possessions I would have if I simplified my life down to one hundred objects. Society often determines the value of an object based on price, however I often find a reason to keep many items no matter its face value. Objects often connect to different memories for me and at time I have trouble parting with them. This book serves as a form of preservation for what I find most important at this point in my life. Creating this index is a way for me to create order. Making this piece has allowed me to reassess my values. The sequence of the images in the book is in the order of what items first came to mind when thinking about what I would “need” or want.
