Quick sketches done while on the tube or buses of London
Final installation
London contains a population approximately 10 times that of San Francisco, the city I grew up next to, and is around 287 times the size of my hometown in the Silicon Valley. Never in my life have I lived in such a largely populated, bustling, urban area.
Being among a crowd of people can simultaneously inspire unity and loneliness; it can make one feel both a sense of belonging and strong singularity. While moving within a crowd, some faces may remain distinct while others blend together.
"Among the Crowd", which was exhibited in a disused car parking lot converted into an arts space by the organization, Bold Tendencies, seeks to represent the aforementioned phenomena.
