A portrait commission for the renowned Indonesian fashion designer Sebastian Gunawan. A hugely talented yet humble man, he gave me free reign into what the portrait would be like. After a few initial sketches, we decided on this one. He is portrayed here as a hunter, always hunting for beauty and inspiration (and looking good while doing so, hence the tux) He hunts and finds them to crown his companion and partner, the deer ( an allegory to his fashion career) that accompanies him on his life and journey.

 

This is the largest watercolour painting that I've done so far, at 55x100cm but I had fun doing it and learned a lot as well and I am proud to be able to share it here with you here.
