Wedding DIY Projects
A few of the projects I made for my wedding.
A few of the projects I made for my wedding.
I got married in June of 2011, and while I did not design my invitations, programs or menus (too much pressure!), I was extremely detail-oriented for my big day. Along with many different vintage or handmade finds, here are a few of the things I made myself:
1. Table Name Cards - Instead of numbering our tables, we named each table after a location in New York City that is important to us. The front shows the name and location on a map, and the back explains why it is special to us.
2. Seating Chart - Since each table was named after a location in NYC, I came up with the idea of displaying the table assignments in a unique way.
3. Place Cards - I did a technique I refer to as "fauxligraphy" to address the invitations, as well as to make the place cards. We had a served dinner, so the waiters needed to know who ordered chicken, steak, or vegetarian. I used a vintage-feeling stamp of a chicken, cow, or carrot, and then I tied a ribbon to further differentiate the different choices.
