Economist Infographic

Project: To create an infographic based on an article, we could use any statistics included in the article, or find additional information to help create the graphics.

This was my first attempt at infographic design, so it was very much a learning process. Figuring out how to convey some complex financial information in a way that was easy to understand (to be fair, it was hard for me to understand to begin with) was a challenge. However, I am was satisfied with the final result and this project opened my interests to the world of infographics.
COMPLETE SPREADS
Before these three complete spreads, this infographic went through a huge number of changes. I wasn't sure where to begin, and when I created elements that I liked, I was unsure of how to incorporate them all together into a cohesive piece. Because of this, the very beginning (directly underneath) is vastly different from the final product.
I maybe took the title "Underwater Homes" too literally at first...
Red and Green: The content of the article I was using broke down the distribution of a large sum of money meant to help homeowners facing foreclosure, and tired to emphasis how the ultimate recipients were not the ones who needed the help the most. Therefore, the red and green were an attempt to indicate the path of the money and whether or not the article was indicating this distribution as  'good' or 'bad'.
Another take on an underwater home...
This was a huge learning curve for me and throughout the process I found myself wishing for a topic that was a little bit more fun than the complexities of the housing market. However, I started to learn how to make an infographic, and got some insight into finances, so I think got a lot out of it!
As always, thank you for looking at my work!
