Boda bodas have been around since 1990s, when young people in Busia, the Kenyan border town near Uganda, used bicycles to smuggle goods across the border. In fact, “boda boda” comes from the English word “border.”
This series was a personal project aimed at increasing awareness for boda boda operators on the dangers they face on their daily hustle.
