The Tales for the Disobedient Children

In 2013, I’ve had a great opportunity to design its czech edition,
issued by czech publishing house Host.

In 1997, slovak writer Dušan Taragel published the book of (post)modern, rough, subversive stories of "evil" children. Tales in the book are dealing with various forms of misbehaviour – the extreme laziness, overeating, sneaking, birds-in-the-sky-freezing screaming and others.
In the Slovakia, it quickly became controversial bestseller with the thousands of passionate both of fans and oponents, as it is breaking the traditional fairy-tale rules constantly. Author brought in unhappy endings, extravagant punishments for children and unusual, funny-but-unsettling monsters.

The book was illustrated by Slovak artist
Jozef Gertli Danglár,
legendary for his graphic novels and comic-style illustrations. His installment was controversial, too as the Danglár is well-known for his agressive, kinky output for grown-ups, not for children.
