Project In University Of Washington (HCDE)

We set out to learn from our elders & devise technology to make their lives easier.
The Whiz Button is intended to address challenges facing the growing 65+ population and their caregivers. Through the development of this product, we looked to uncover key firsthand insights from our intended users and relevant design solutions, iterating on our designs through a UCD (user-centered design) process. Primarily inspired by the idea designing for our elderly family members and future selves, we have mapped a simple system that includes a programmable button and app for easy task execution for individuals over 65. The button and user onboarding/management app will help to connect 65+ individuals to a range of services at the press of a button, from emergency assistance to transportation and food delivery.

Our design is an attempt to improve the daily lives of this demographic through implementation of an intuitive, button experience in IOT  space with finger print that is designed for the elderly.
