Experimentation in Different Media
I began with trying out different mediums and exploring the visual effects they created beginning with water colours, pencil and blue biro before going onto trying some etchings in ink.
Journeys
I used a school trip around London as the stimulus to my AS project titled 'Journeys'. Initially, I created a collage using only things collected during the trip and then went on to develop ideas based on some of the photographs I took along the way.
After studying numerous artists and creating pieces based on their style, my final piece was a two part image representing the journey taken by the architecture of my school as the new premises is built. I created two A2 pieces using a mix of water colours, acrylics, graphite and chalk before editing them further on Photoshop.
3D Work
I wanted to experiment with working in 3D and explore the development from 2D to 3D, so tried out some simple laser cutting.
Observational Drawings
Observational drawing is something I have always enjoyed and these are some I have done more recently in my own time.
Relationships
When given the title 'Relationships', I chose to explore the relationship between the two cultures that influence me most; British and Ghanaian. In the process towards my final piece, I created a number of works in acrylic paints whilst incorporating other media such as printing ink before adding trying out the addition of textiles later on.
