Fall Free Nights Promotion, Time for One More Memory
Expedia promotes a variety of sales year-round which is great for the consumer, but often a challenge for the creative team to come up with fresh campaigns for each season. In the Fall of 2010, Expedia offered a free night with each package booked. My dedicated copywriter and I came up with the concept "One More Memory." Travelers would get to spend an extra day in their destination, building upon whatever experiences they saw fit.
I began with a mood board that outlined the fun and frivolity that comes with vacation, and chose visuals to compliment the things one might enjoy while traveling: souvenir shopping, writing postcards, family photos, and alternate transportation systems.
Design moved forward with a landing page that highlighted a hero image that incorporated ideas from the mood board, and custom hero images were created for the regional destination pages--each suggesting a memory one might experience in the selected region (i.e. Mexico: Time for One More Siesta).
