Musings@TheRooftop is a weekend side - project of Monument Media Productions, featuring new and existing talents of different backgrounds, range from poets, musicians and singer - songwriters to magicians, storytellers and painters.

The first episode features a renowned spoken word artist, Ezra Hananiah Jalin, whom began his journey in writing since the age of 7 and embarked into poetry since 2013 as a method of expression. Aside from being a poet and spoken word artist, Ezra is also a pastor, scriptwriter, filmmaker, social entrepreneur, musician and photographer. Ezra is a member of PoetryCafeKL, a gathering of poets and spoken word artists in the heart of KL.

In the beginning, there was the Word
And the Word was with GOD
And the Word was GOD

And GOD made everything in accordance to the Word
And the Word was made alive, because GOD remains alive
And the Word became inspiration to the apostles and the prophets

Pharisees, Sadducees, Scribes in Sanhedrins
The Holy Grand Synagogue, temple peeps
Locking in, tried to keep people from reading it
Instead, they recited it

So people began to astray
Began to be led away
Then more problems came

And from the start to end

Living life in the double hood
When the Scripture came
They began to hoot

Prophets were dead
Messengers were afraid
But they boldly preached
Up to their final days

Of the forthcoming of the Messiah
The King of all kings
Lord of all lords
The Prince of Peace
The Mighty Counsellor

He was born of the virgin
Full of grace, highly favoured
The day arrived and conceived in a manger

The new journey is about to spark
The worldly course is about to go on a lunge
The truth is about to set off the chains
Behold the emptiness of the prison

Thousand years have passed
And meditation on nativity is nothing
Just another Christmas play
And decorations of Christmas tree

New generation, art thee blind?
Beseech thy Saviour
Who freed thee from lies

Out of the walls of the ancient, gothic church
And the pulpit of fake, purplish preachers
Receive the gift of lifetime: Salvation
The connection established through holy covenant

The end days are incurring judgement
No longer the days of sugar - coated words
Gone are the haters of GOD in lake of fire
And the children shall abide in eternal presence"
