Usurper King Zant Costume

I created armor patterns in illustrator then sized it to the cosplayer, Eric. Here are the patterns for the front and back of the helmet as well as the shoes. After the patterns were checked we cut them out of craft foam then wrapped the pieces in a thermoplastic called Worbla. After the pieces were connected with a heat gun I then primed, painted, and glazed the armor.

This is the pattern I created in illustrator so we could make Usurper King Zant's weapon of choice for the costume.
This is the photo Eric and I sent to enter this Usurper King Zant costume into the Eastern Championships of Cosplay competition at New York Comic Con 2015. At this point all major construction was completed. After this photo was taken I continued to finish painted details on the jacket sleeves, shoes, and red panel in the front. We also fabricated, primed, and painted two scimitars for the final product.
