Wooden barstool for Missana designed by Muka (2015).
Muka was inspired by the whales that came from the North Sea to the Basque coast when designing these Nordic style bar stools. Balea means whale in Basque, and the rounded shapes of this stool remind us indeed to a whale´s belly.
The decorative horizontal seams of the seat also resemble the belly of these cetaceans. Their soft and organic lines with Nordic style show us the wooden legs with a very natural and warm finishing, the upholstery of the seat combines amazing textures with a cheerful splash of color.
The legs are made of solid rounded oak or beech wood. In this way we were able to maintain, in both, the materials used and the making process, the identity and the caracter of a handmade product.
Serie de taburetes diseñados para la colección The Novelties de Missana por Muka (2015).
Se trata de una serie de taburetes que combinan materiales nobles con la tapicería artesanal de la empresa valenciana.
Inspiradas en las ballenas que venían del mar del Norte a las costas vascas para realizar una serie de taburetes de estilo nórdico.“Balea” significa ballena en Euskera, y es que las formas redondeadas de este taburete, nos recuerdan a la panza de una ballena.
Las costuras decorativas horizontales se asemejan al vientre de estos cetáceos. Sus líneas suaves y orgánicas de estilo nórdico dejan a la vista la madera de sus patas con un cálido acabado natural, y el tapizado del asiento combina agradables tejidos y con un alegre toque de color.
Las patas están realizadas en roble o haya maciza torneada. De esta forma se mantiene, tanto en los materiales como en su fabricación, la identidad y el carácter de un producto artesanal.
