Panasonic - IFE
In flight entertainment system.
Homescreen v1.0.
The original design, created for a Trade Show, was considered a little underwhelming. Panasonic wanted a 'face-melting-experience' and a new take on Apple's cover-flow. We gave them a solution that ticked all the right boxes and then some.
The grey welcome panel slides up.
Weather forecast panel drops down.
Dashboard and quick links slide out of view, leaving the clock and social widgets behind.
The primary  carousel can be scrolled vertically and horizontally. Internal panels can contain adverts or messages for the user, i.e. notifying them that their hire car or hotel room has been booked.
This was my first attempt at the Cloud TV guide. The final version, see full screenshot below, had a simplified UI and architecture.
This is the final Cloud TV guide design. The next four screens are close-up's of the same page.
The primary two column area on the left contains, by default, a series of top news items. The right hand column lists the Most Read articles and subsequent user discussions.
Select a movie and watch, simple. The close-up shows how the audio control works i.e. swipe up to increase volume and swipe down to decrease.
Here, the user can click-drag down a secondary nav from the dashboard parent and customise its Preferences.
