Using nature as its source, the Second Nature app generates a unique image every time.
Users start by selecting a profile picture from their Facebook account which serves as the basis for their artwork. After positioning the picture, nature takes over as grass grows begins to grown from the outline of the picture. As the user paints a path with their mouse, colourful vines and tendrils sprout out and blossom adding detail to the artwork.
I was responsible for development and design of the Flash module, including both the concept and stylisation the organic elements. The app uses a proprietary rendering engine developed in Flash (AS3) for all the rendering and animation.
