Capezio Pointe Shoes
Shoe Box - Packaging Design
Capezio is a company that has truly left its legacy in dance, as they have evolved from a family business into a world-class dance wear brand. When presented with the task of designing a unique shoebox, my dancer’s brain headed straight towards creatively re-thinking pointe shoe packaging. I find the current method, a standard plastic bag, to be boring and wasteful. My solution is a transportable kit that includes necessary items for pointe dancers: pointe shoes, ribbon, and rosin. The rosin container sits on the inside of the primary tube, providing support for the shoes to be seen. When stored in the studio each tube would be laid on top of one another, with the bottom exposing the shoe information. Once it is removed from the shelf it stands upright, the shoes themselves are center stage.
