Health Grenade - A Graphic Novel

"Health Grenade" is a hypothetical healthy eating campaign that aims at educating children between the ages of 8 and 18 about the detrimental effects of eating fast food through a graphic novel. It was a project that I took up for my masters and although the book was completed, the potential of the campaign was never tapped into completely.
Poster and front cover art
The initial steps of this project involved sketching various characters out and trying out multiple styles of inking in my sketchbook. The faces of famous actors served as reference material through this process.
Here's a look at what I wanted the book to look like at first. The inking style and color scheme was highly influenced by the works seen in 'Nobrow' books.
I decided to scrap the old color schemes and inking style for the one on the right.
Here's a look at a few pages from the book.
Branding and Logo Designing was another aspect of the campaign that took a considerable amount of time. Below are a few early logo designs I came up with for the logo of 'Health Grenade'.
Here are a few corporate looking logos that I designed with the help of a friend.
I tried using the campaign's name for the logo which were written out in various handmade typefaces.
After designing various logos, I decided to with a design that merged the initials of the campaign name with an image of a grenade.
The final look of the logo is a handmade typeface that has been worked over on both PhotoShop and Illustrator to bring about a certain relevance to the campaign.
Another poster variant
The campaign had the potential to expand and find its way onto a digital platform to view and even products, pamphlets, customized bookmarks and recycled paper books.
