This year I decide that is was important for my YouTube channel to represent me not only as a content creator but as a graphic designer. I felt that my thumbnails while fine for the most part were not representing the fact that a graphic designer was behind this YouTube channel. So I updated over 100 (of out 600) of my Top YouTube channel videos with brand new thumbnails.

 

I did this based on putting together a system for each type of content and doing a photo shoot with multiple poses. I then went into Photoshop and cut myself out of the background of these new photo and put together a template system for generating new and much more impressive thumbnails that are competitive with the top ranking videos that show up in search.

Each thumbnail now looks like high quality image that had thought and intention behind it instead of just a screenshot from the video. This is what I feel will represent my brand better in 2016 and what happens when you have the power of a graphic designer behind a brand or a product.
