Tracce. Questa l'unica parola chiave che Carolina Piola e Mattia Niniano, musicisti jazz, mi hanno suggerito per la realizzazione della grafica dell'EP di presentazione della loro musica. Un cd composto da cinque pezzi diversi fra loro e per questo un cd senza un filo conduttore né un titolo.
"Tracce" è quindi diventato il segno grafico che caratterizza questo lavoro: linee, punti e colori si intrecciano a formare pattern e forme astratte, che si ispirano alla tangle art. Unica eccezione è la rappresentazione di un uccello, che si intravede in copertina e che riprende il particolare manico della chitarra di Mattia.

L'uso della fotografia (foto a cura di Piero Giaccari) nelle pagine interne del libretto rende più armonico il lavoro, che si caratterizza per il forte contrasto tra i pieni della copertina e un maggiore minimalismo del booklet.
Tracks. This is the only keyword that Carolina Piola and Mattia Niniano, jazz musicians, have suggested me for the realization of the graphic design of their music EP. A CD composed of five different tracks, the reason why it's a CD without a theme or a title. "Traces" has become the graphic sign that characterizes this work: lines, dots and colors are interwives to form patterns and abstract forms, inspired by tangle art. The only exception is the representation of a bird, which can be seen on the cover and which evokes Mattia's particular guitar neck.
The use of photography (photo by Piero Giaccari) on the inside pages of the booklet makes the work more harmonious; the project is characterized by the stark contrast between the full cover and a more minimalist booklet.
