wild L (book dummy)

“wild L” does not necessarily mean anything specific. L could be “love”, “lonely”, “left”, or “leaves”. Few years after I have finished working on this collection, I have lost the mentality and feelings I had during that time. These visual fractions mix with each other like a person mumbling to himself trying to tell a meaningless story. Those memories have dissolved in time.

When I reorganise these photos, the process resembles the past when I was taking them, as if I am reconstructing a memory. Ironically, the strange feelings I have when I look through these photos again allow me to better search for the inner connection between each of them.

The creation of this book is an unsolved sadness towards the end of a phase. I realized that the instinct and the scene when taking these photos were unique. They can not be preserved in or repeated by photos. The very reason for the creation of these photos was my search for meanings. However, presented in a book, these photos are not only limited to an individual’s emotion anymore, but allowing others to extract a kind of sadness that is more universal based on their own experiences.
