Ben Gurion Airport

The exercise was to choose a website with problems, identify them and create an alternative homepage.  I chose Ben Gurion airport since it was user unfriendly, difficult to navigate, disorganized and busy with information which was presented in too many ways and without any hierarchy. Also the design didn’t represent what it was – a portal to the State of Israel.

In the design that I built I divided the information to groups according to hierarchy, I identified the immediate needs of the passengers and presented them in a clear way using contrast and location. I presented the flight search and check-in in a central location. At the bottom the high priority services that the airport offers which will open to additional pages with more details. The navigation at the top of the page contains additional and wide information such as maps, terminals, guides for passengers and tourist information for visitors. The background is a carousel of the airport photos and the country’s landscapes.

I also created a version for mobile with an extra page that will provide the passenger’s flight rout.
