Redesign brand of Costa del Sol - Málaga Tourist Board

This was my winning bid for the new logo, which was in the last minute shot down by another design studio, due to friendship between the studio and the politician that controls the Málaga Tourist Board.
 
Its was a very beautiful project and required an in depth knowledge of the old logo, is full potential as one of the leading Tourist Brands of the world.
 
The original Logo was based on the historial fact that Málaga as a city was originally created by Phoenician in 800 Bc. The old logo was a fusion between the 'Phoenician eye' the symbol used by many cultures on their boats to protect them from evil and a more modern pictorial graphics which portrays the landscape to the sea.
 
I tried to return the brand to its origins using the eye or better said the 'pupil of the human eye' to reflect all the new aspects that Malaga as a tourist destination has to offer. The colors in spiral changing and merging reflected very well the tastes and sounds and all the variety of a modern and ancient city has to offer today.
 
This project was made to work in all the different supports such as 'Print and Digital' and was also resolved to be used in all sizes and materials. In full color, Greys or Black and White... Printed on cloths or sewed onto fabric... the shame was the unjust result of the politicians.
