A depiction of landscape scenes featuring the recently completed Project Westwind
industrial turbine farm within the Makara region of Wellington, New Zealand.

Referencing both the tradition of the New Zealand landscape genre and contemporary
environmental politics, this series attempts to juxtapose the engagement between
man/land and nostalgia/technology.

The symbolic value of the turbine is seen as polarizing poster child for ‘green’ rhetoric
whilst paradoxically representing the industrial imposition upon unspoiled natural
environs. Attempting to ingratiate both perspectives – this series captures the majestic
strength of the turbine framed within Makara’s rugged skeleton cliffs.
