Take some extremely dull content, say, for an annual report, redesign and typeset to make it appealing. Oh, and don't make it too fun because it's for CHEO. Oh, and do it twice, once for english, once UPSIDEDOWN in french.
This is how the document appeared without being shuffled. The final ended up with a blank page before the mission statement, and before the final page. This is because the french version was longer than the english version, and in order to have the french and english covers on the same spread, some layout changes needed to be made.
So I decided on a half letter size, because I thought a horzantal, lanscape would be a unique approach. Since this booklet is bilingual, The second half was printed upside down, as well as suffled for the booklet format. Was presented with simple two staple binding.
I decided on a unique layout, three column grid, but only two columns of text, usually alligned to the right side of the page. The headings I aligned vertically, giving focus to the blocks of text.
I cut the images, either from face book or the actual CHEO annual report. Used for reference. Those that were clipped from facebook are cited. Others are simply stock images, I placed for this non-commercial assignement.
