Mzansi Magic is one of South Africa's most watched general entertainment television channels, with a strong focus on premier local content for pay television viewers.  'Mzansi' is slang for "The South" in Xhosa. 

Mzansi Magic's identity and brand strategy has evolved since its launch in 2010 and the channel was given a complete refresh in 2014.  The new imagery had to be more relatable and welcoming to a mass market audience while still maintaining a premier profile.  The everyday landscapes of South Africa had to be shown in the new imagery - places that viewers could connect with and places that could reflect the environments where the shows from the channel take place.  A more immersive, 3D package was required in contrast to the fairly simple imagery Mzansi Magic started off with in 2010.  Also as a progression from the previous imagery with a simple typographic approach, the stars from the shows had to take centre stage now.

A full 3D 'Mzansi' world was created for this channel branding package.  The setups are all modular for easy updates, as well as offering many add-on possibilities.
