'Your life is Shit'

Overview

Elements of success is defined by many factors. Of all the factors involved, I have picked dream and reality. Dream and reality are words that are familiar to the majority. But how many have actually took time to rethink if they are pursing their dreams or simply conforming to reality.

Aim

The aim of my project is not to help improve someone's life, but to provide them thinking tools to allow them to rethink about how they want to live the life. These thinking tools are in the form of visuals, a mixture of two and three dimensional visuals.

To attract the viewers attention with a loud statement.
Poster Design for "Dream".

I have used Gautama Buddha as a figure for someone who has achieved his dreams.
It is recorded in history that when Budhha has reached a state of nirvana, it's refering to
Buddha achieving total enlightenment. I am using this as a metaphor for only when
someone decides to go after their dreams then will they truly be happy.
Poster Design for "Reality".

I have used a fleshless, skeleton to represent reality. I choose to belive that conforming
to reality is a boring excuse for someone who is not willing to take a risk and go after
their dreams. In this poster, a cold color treatment is used to represent the solemness
felt when facing reality. I have included other elements in the poster to further challenge
the viewers perception of reality. The skeleton is stuck in this open face box, reaching
out to a small window; looking almost like a cell. It's to show that the skeloton is stuck
in this box and it is reaching out for freedom, like how reality is crippling us. But if you
were to look again, the box is only bounded on one side, the rest of the box is actually
open. It's your choice to leave behind reality and move onto elsewhere but you choose
to only look at your dreams through a tiny opening and stay put in your comfort zone.
Poster of "Realistic Dreamer"

I have mixed the characters from both posters to form a new character to represent
dreaming realistically. To keep your heads in the clouds and to keep your feet rooted
to the grounds. What I meant was to go and chase your dreams but stay humble
and work hard towards it! Just as how rome isn't built in a day, dreams are achieved
for those who perserve and those who work hard.
End of the Poster series.

Ending it off with a diagram, challenging the viewer on which
is their final choice.
Cover design for the Instruction Manual.

The weighing scale is held by a finger, balancing out dream and reality.
Having the heart to be placed in center to represent the unbiasness in
either of the elements, the choice belongs to the viewer.

Pictures of Project.
We all start the same. We have the right to choose how we want to live our lives.
Reality might bring you stability but is that all that you want?
Chasing you dream doesn't assure you success, but at least you tried. Live life with no regrets.
