RACING SUIT Design for Struan Moore
In august 2015 I was asked by talenthouse.com to participate in their contest with a design of a racing suit for KC Motorgroup driver Struan Moore, the only european to take part in the final race of the season at the Formula 3 Challenge in Tokyo, Japan.
Artists were encouraged to take inspiration from Japanese culture and incorporate it into their design. I chose all natural elements, with which the culture is deeply interconnected, and blended them together in a shape which in its symmetry and structure reminds me of Leonardo Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man. Here the Sakura cherry tree, the Koi, typical Japanese fish, and the unpredictable waves of the Pacific Ocean are all originated by the red sun, flag of Japan itself, into which this complex and fascinating culture is rooted.
