Between Jobs
Between Jobs

Between Jobs explores the transition from working just to get by and starting a life, one mistake at a time.

Living and working together, three post-college roommates face down their own personal issues while trying to survive modern suburban living. Set in a deteriorating New England town their world has minor fantastical elements that co-exist with the mundane world, either to push a joke or establish a plot point. (Such as: A banshee DMV worker, confederate ghost father-in-law, super-hero rival, or a living stuffed panda bear.) Focusing on situational comedy the show utilizes  dialogue driven humor and visual gags to communicate (and sometimes lighten) the crude themes present - recreational drug use, one night stands, violence, alcoholism, etc.

Cast:

James: A narcissistic perfectionist, James' vision for his future was dashed to pieces when his application to a large tech firm was ruthlessly rejected. Disheartened he is forced to take a cooking job to pay his student loans. Being forced by his financial state to live with his high school friends, Marc and Corey, James struggles dealing with their carefree antics and dumb ideas they impose on his lifestyle.

Marc: An orphan, Marc learned how to act from the only two reliable things in his life – other children and comic books. As an adult he abandons his dead-end job as an office drone to move back in with his child-hood best friend Corey in an attempt to find out what he actually needs to be happy.

Corey: Carefree and unfocused, Corey fumbled his way through Art school and is now trying to peddle his own comic strip, “Rusty and Blonde”. Unfortunately the only things he can seem to concentrate on are hockey and treasure hunting with his pet stuffed panda bear, Elmers.

Elmers: An animate stuffed panda bear given to Corey by his parents in an attempt to teach him responsibility, Elmers follows him around religiously. Tragically for them though, Elmers seems to embody Corey's more whimsical ventures and he is more than happy to  participate.
