Best Time for Visiting the Bahamas

Michael “Mike” Angeleri, a managerial assistant at Eastern Lift Truck who is responsible for general maintenance of equipment and grounds, enjoys traveling when he can. A fan of the beach, Michael Angeleri enjoys visiting the Jersey shore and has taken a couple trips to Atlantis in the Bahamas.

With the exception of hurricane season, which lasts from June through November, the weather in the Bahamas is fairly enjoyable year-round and does not play as big of a role in determining travel dates as crowds do. Temperatures typically range between 75 and 84 degrees Fahrenheit, although mornings and nights can be colder during summer and winter, and there is sunshine for more than 300 days every year.

In terms of the crowds, spring break and the winter months from December through February are the busiest time of year. Hotels are typically booked well in advance, and prices for both flights and accommodations are at their highest. During spring break season, many hotels do host extra events, but the beaches are much more crowded, and finding a quiet place to relax is difficult.

May through November is the best time to visit in terms of crowds. Even though this is during hurricane season, hurricanes are not very common, and forecasts of incoming hurricanes arrive with plenty of time for locals and visitors to take certain precautions. During these months, many hotels offer deals and discounts, but some smaller islands are closed. Still, the larger islands are in full swing and normally host several events.
