The University of Iowa's Science Technology Engineering and Math department wanted a logo that represented the four different areas in harmony. My first round of drafts incorporated the University of Iowa colors as well as symbols from each different area.
STEM picked this logo, but wanted the icons within the hexagons to be changed.
So I created different symbols for technology and math and tried them out with the Science and Engineering symbols to see what combination would be most successful.
Ultimately STEM picked the logo below.
