LiGTHS OUT!

This project officially became my first try out on shooting outdoors with artificial light.
I.e. Light boxes, strobe light and what had we.

The location was ivy garden- Air force base Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Most of the Models were my co-corps members from my C.d.s (community development service) group,
we were organizing a send forth party for the oldest batch of corps members in the group.

The photo shoot literally flashed light to the whole scene, though a learning process for me, it captured memories of a happy bunch of youths. Hailing from various states in the federation the Batch B’s were celebrating their job well done in serving their fathers land, under the NYSC scheme, rivers state chapter.

NYSC- national youth service corps
An initiative of the Nigerian Government constituted by decree No.24 of 22nd May 1973 with the aim of integrating Nigerian peoples across borders of ethnicity and cultural differentiation. Graduating from tertiary institution being the major qualification, citizens undergoing the NYSC scheme ideally should be below the age of 35, and are to serve in a state other than their state of origin or where they lived most years of their life.

Though not compulsory, the NYSC certificate however is a determining factor for whether one is legible to get or keep a job in facilities, industries or ministries within Nigeria. (see; http://www.nysc.gov.ng)
