When I was a 19-year-old soldier, I wanted to design something catchy for Tel-Aviv's 100th anniversary. So I came up with this design, inpired by the NY version with a relevant twist to the nummeric thing. I printed a batch of these shirts and sold them in a few stores.
In my guerilla marketing efforts, I emailed a bunch of magazines hoping to find interest in the t-shirt release. I eventually scored a little item in TimeOut Tel-Aviv magazine.
Little did I know, 2 weeks later I got an email asking to use the design for the front page of the special 100th anniversary issue.
