Artist Statement:
The Peter project was designed to expose the pornography industry and evoke authentic thoughts and responses from students. Although at one point you may have thought we were advocates for the social normalization of pornography, our real intent was to use reverse psychology to spark real conversation among Iowa State’s campus. We hope those who saw our work questioned the intent of Peter’s claims. This collage is a collection of the imagery we created for our campaign, the responses that students gave to it, and collected statements on how pornography has affected individuals around the United States.
